The Smart-Pumps project was introduced at the Energy in Buildings 2024 international conference, held on November 22-23, 2024, at the Grand Hyatt in Athens, Greece.

Associate Professor Maria K. Koukou, a member of the HMU team and advisor of the ASHRAE NKUA student branch, participated in the conference, having the opportunity to present the Smart-Pumps project and its expected impact on heat-pumps’ design and manufacturing. She engaged in discussions with representatives from technical and commercial companies, while also sharing the project brochure with companies and conference attendees.

ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) is a global professional organization founded in 1959, committed to advancing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) technologies for a sustainable built environment. This annual conference was organized by ASHRAE Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). It has been a key gathering since 2012, bringing together engineers, architects, academics and professionals from various disciplines to advance the state of the art in the built environment.

Participation in events like Energy in Buildings 2024 is an important step for the Smart-Pumps project, providing the team with an opportunity to showcase early-stage developments, raise awareness, and gather feedback from experts in the field.
